Cat6 is a type of Ethernet cable that can support a maximum theoretical transmission speed of 10 Gbps over a short distance (usually within 55 meters). In practical use, the transmission speed of Cat6 is often around 1 Gbps.
On the other hand, fiber optic cables use light signals to transmit data, offering much higher transmission speeds. Single – mode fiber can reach speeds of 100 Gbps or more under standard conditions, and multi – mode fiber can also provide speeds ranging from 1 Gbps to 100 Gbps. Moreover, fiber optic cables are not affected by electromagnetic interference and can achieve much longer transmission distances compared to Cat6 cables.
