The RJ45 RJ11 Network Cable Tester (VC468) is a compact, two-piece continuity and wire-sequence checker for compatible copper Ethernet and telephone cables. The master tester and detachable remote let you examine a cable from both ends, making the set suitable for inspecting newly terminated patch leads, wall-jack connections, and existing unpowered cable runs.

The master unit has RJ45 (8P8C) and RJ11 (6P6C) ports. Both sections feature numbered LED positions from 1 to 8 plus G, helping technicians compare conductor paths and investigate open circuits, crossed wires, and incorrect terminations. The main unit’s slide switch is marked OFF, ON, and S, providing standard and slower LED test sequences.

For a basic check, disconnect both ends of the cable from powered equipment. Connect one end to the master and the other to the removable remote, then observe the order of the indicators. The separate remote is particularly convenient when a cable terminates at two different points in a room, rack, or wiring cabinet.

The VC468 RJ45 RJ11 Network Cable Tester is intended for passive wire mapping and continuity checks, not network certification. It does not measure data throughput, verify Ethernet category performance, or test live PoE power. Match the expected pinout to the cable being examined before interpreting the results.

RJ45 RJ11 Network Cable Tester for LAN and Telephone Cable Checks

The RJ45 RJ11 Network Cable Tester is a handheld wire-mapping and continuity tool for checking compatible Ethernet and telephone cables. It comes as one set with a master unit and a detachable remote, allowing the two ends of a cable to be checked from separate positions. Both units have clearly numbered LED positions for comparing conductor connections.

Plug the two ends of a disconnected cable into the matching RJ45 or RJ11 ports on the master and remote units. The sequential LEDs help an installer identify continuity and investigate open circuits, shorts or crossed and incorrectly terminated conductors. This RJ45 RJ11 Network Cable Tester is useful after crimping plugs, fitting wall jacks or troubleshooting a passive copper cable run.

A three-position OFF/ON/S switch provides normal and slow indicator sequencing. The compact white housing has green front panels, and the remote section can be detached for work at the opposite end of a cable. The master uses one 9V PP3-type battery, which is not included.

This is a basic continuity and wire-sequence checker, not a cable certifier, link-speed analyzer or PoE meter. Use it on disconnected, unpowered cables only. The supplier’s photos show different printed model identifiers, so the sale is identified by its RJ45/RJ11 testing function and the pictured two-piece configuration rather than by an unverified model number.
