RJ45 RJ11 Network Cable Tester for LAN and Telephone Cable Checks

The RJ45 RJ11 Network Cable Tester is a handheld wire-mapping and continuity tool for checking compatible Ethernet and telephone cables. It comes as one set with a master unit and a detachable remote, allowing the two ends of a cable to be checked from separate positions. Both units have clearly numbered LED positions for comparing conductor connections.

Plug the two ends of a disconnected cable into the matching RJ45 or RJ11 ports on the master and remote units. The sequential LEDs help an installer identify continuity and investigate open circuits, shorts or crossed and incorrectly terminated conductors. This RJ45 RJ11 Network Cable Tester is useful after crimping plugs, fitting wall jacks or troubleshooting a passive copper cable run.

A three-position OFF/ON/S switch provides normal and slow indicator sequencing. The compact white housing has green front panels, and the remote section can be detached for work at the opposite end of a cable. The master uses one 9V PP3-type battery, which is not included.

This is a basic continuity and wire-sequence checker, not a cable certifier, link-speed analyzer or PoE meter. Use it on disconnected, unpowered cables only. The supplier’s photos show different printed model identifiers, so the sale is identified by its RJ45/RJ11 testing function and the pictured two-piece configuration rather than by an unverified model number.

What can this tester tell me about an RJ45 Ethernet cable?

It helps compare the conductor sequence shown by the master and remote LEDs and can reveal common wiring problems such as an open conductor or incorrect termination. It does not certify Cat5e/Cat6 performance or measure network speed.

Can I test a cable that is already plugged into a router, switch or telephone line?

No. Disconnect the cable from active equipment and make sure it is not carrying voltage before testing. This is a passive cable wiring checker, not a live-network or PoE diagnostic instrument.

Why does the tester have a removable remote section?

The remote attaches to the far end of the cable while the master remains at the near end. This makes it easier to check wiring through a patch panel, wall jack or another installed cable route.

What battery does the master tester use?

It operates from a 9V PP3-type battery. The supplier lists the product without a battery, so you will need to supply one separately.

Does the set include cables or a battery?
