1×2 Fiber Optic Splitter, 50:50 FBT for FTTH Distribution
This 1×2 fiber optic splitter divides one single-mode fiber input into two optical outputs with a nominal 50:50 split. The existing product listing identifies a fused-taper (FBT) design. Select the SC/UPC, SC/APC, or no-connector pigtail version to match the fiber termination and distribution point in your FTTH or telecom access network.
SC/UPC and SC/APC are different end-face types and must be mated with matching interfaces. The no-connector version has unconnectorized fiber ends for splicing. When assessing an optical link, check the splitter loss at the intended wavelengths and allow for any connector or splice loss in the link budget.
| Product Type | 1×2 fiber optic splitter (listed as fused-taper / FBT) | Splitting Ratio | 50:50 (nominal equal split) |
| Fiber Mode | Single-mode | Optical Ports | 1 input / 2 outputs |
| Connector Options | SC/UPC, SC/APC, no connector (pigtail) | Installation | Matched SC interfaces or fiber splicing, depending on option |
| Operating Wavelengths | 1310 / 1550 nm (comparable FBT reference configuration) | Insertion Loss | ≤3.5 dB (existing product listing; connector inclusion and test conditions unverified) |
| Applications | FTTH optical distribution and telecom access networks |

Optical Splitter Performance & Connector Inspection
| For a 1×2 optical splitter, evaluate insertion loss at both output paths and the balance between the two outputs at the specified test wavelengths. For SC/UPC and SC/APC versions, connector end-face condition and back-reflection are also relevant; connector types must match their mating ports. The no-connector version is installed by fiber splicing. Actual test results depend on the selected configuration and measurement conditions. |
